This 23 day trip, 16 day trek from Lukla, offers some of the most spectacular views in the world while experiencing the warmth of the Sherpa culture. A classic trek of unparalleled beauty through fascinating mountain villages and Tibetan Buddhist monasteries. In preparation for our hike to Everest Base Camp, we will visit the famous Gokyo Lakes area, cross over Cho La Pass, and then we will ascend to Kala Patthar for the most impressive views of Mount Everest and a 360 degree panorama of some of the world's highest peaks. This is where the best photos of Mt. Everest and vicinity are taken. |

After one day of sightseeing in Kathmandu we will take a spectacular flight to Lukla with some impressive views of the Himalayan range. Our route will take us through Namche Bazaar, the most prosperous and largest village in the Khumbu region. It is famous as a traditional trading center and we will meet many merchants of Tibetan origin. We will traverse beautiful fir, juniper and rhododendron forests in Sagarmatha National Park on our way to the camping sites near Phortse Tenga and then Machhermo (14,650'). From Machhermo we move on to Gokyo and then ascend Gokyo Ri (17,990') to enjoy the view before returning to Gokyo. From Gokyo we head easterly across Cho La Pass (17,783'), then to Dzonglha. From Dzonglha move on to Gorak Shep,and hike up to Kala Patthar (18,400 ft.) for breathtaking views of Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Pumori, and countless other beautiful peaks. From Gorak Shep we will visit the actual Base Camp of Mt. Everest, home to all expeditions climbing the South Col route to the highest summit on Earth. Our return journey takes us to Thyangboche, Khumjung, and Phakding before arriving back in Lukla. |

Price: $2205 per person in Nepal, based on 4 to 6 persons per group. Price includes: Round trip flight to Lukla, 4 nights hotel in Kathmandu including breakfast, based on double occupancy, 2 person tents on the trek, dining tents, toilet tents, tables, chairs, all food during trekking days, experienced guide, cook, assistant guide, assistant cook, all porterage as required by the group size, insurance required for the Nepali staff, trekking permits, and National Park fees.
Not included: International airfare, Nepali visa, lunch and dinner in Kathmandu, tips, laundry, telephone calls, personal clothing and equipment, vaccinations, rescue charges (if needed), travel and health insurance, airport taxes. |
