This exciting itinerary starts with a 30 minute flight to Pokhara for our first night camping by beautiful Pewa Lake. We will take a peaceful boat ride on the serene waters of the lake before returning to camp for supper. The following day a short drive will take us to the start of the trail. We will hike for a couple of hours to the Gurung village of Dhampus where we will stop for lunch before continuing to our campsite in Potana. The next day we will traverse a beautiful rhododendron forest and hike through terraced rice fields on our way to Ghangdrun where we will spend our third night before our return path takes us through Birethanti and on to Pokhara. Along the way we will enjoy magnificent views of Annapurna South, Dhaulagiri, Annapurna II, Lamjung Himal, Gangapurna, the sacred mountain of Machapuchare and many other beautiful peaks. On our last night in Pokhara, our staff and porters will organize a delightful goodbye party with local songs and dances. The next day we will drive to Royal Chitwan National Park, the first and most famous national park in Nepal. This ecologically diverse area is the last remaining home in Nepal for more than 300 of the endangered Asian one-horned rhinoceros. Our elephant safari the following day is a great way to see the many animals that live here: Royal Bengal tiger, leopard, langur monkey, spotted chital, more than 450 species of birds, wild boar, crocodile, and many more. The unforgettable experience of the one hour mountain flight for close-up views of Everest, Makalu, Cho-Oyu, Lhotse, and many other surrounding peaks is the grand finale of this exquisite adventure that will linger with you long after your return home. |
